First time exhibition in Brazil, featuring an overview focused in the topic of ZERO, the international avant-garde art movement of the late 1950's and the early 1960's that decisively changed the art of the postwar period and revolutionized art with vibrant bright structures and serial paintings. Organized by the Goethe-Institut within the framework of the event "Temporada Alemanha + Brasil 2013-2014", this itinerant exhibition presents pictorial arrangements arranged in series and vibrating light structures the best examples of the German group that is considered the pioneer of multimedia art. The exhibition curated by Heike van den Valentyn includes 24 works by artists from Europe and South America that reveal the modern modes of thought and work of ZERO. The focus is on the relationships between European artists, such as Yves Klein, Günther Uecker, Otto Piene and Hans Haacke, and their South American peers like Lucio Fontana, Almir Mavignier and Jesús Rafael Soto. The artistic dialogue of the exhibition "ZERO" is expanded with the works of Hércules Barsotti, Lygia Clark and Abraham Palatnik (all from Brazil) and Gego (Venezuela), as well as works by Gyula Kosice (Argentina)
